AppAsset ("we", "the site", "the tools") is a free suite of seven browser-based tools: an app icon generator, a store screenshot generator, a QR code generator, a URL shortener, an image compressor, an image converter, and a PDF compressor, plus an optional donation ("Buy me a coffee") feature. This page explains what happens to the content you use in each one, and how little of it ever leaves your device.
AppAsset has no accounts, no sign-up, and no login. We don't ask for your name, email, or payment details to use any of the studios. We don't run analytics or advertising trackers, and we don't set tracking cookies.
Every control in the icon studio — clipart, text, uploaded images, colors, shapes — renders locally in your browser using the Canvas API. Nothing is sent anywhere until you click a download button. When you download an icon or banner ZIP, the finished image is sent once to our own export endpoint, resized into the required files, zipped, and streamed back to you. We don't store that image afterward, and we don't log its contents.
Screenshot framing, captioning, and export all happen entirely in your browser. Uploaded screenshots and generated ZIPs never touch our server — the ZIP is built client-side and handed straight to your browser's download manager.
QR codes, including any logo you embed, are generated and exported entirely in your browser. The content you encode (a URL, WiFi password, contact details, etc.) is never transmitted to us.
To make a short link redirect, we store the destination URL, the short code, a creation timestamp, and a running click count. We don't require an account, so a short link isn't tied to your identity — only to whoever has the short URL. Your personal "recent links" list is saved in your browser's local storage, not on our server; clearing your browser data clears that list, though the underlying short links keep working.
Compression uses a real image encoder that runs on our server, so each image you compress is sent there for processing. It is compressed and returned in the same request and is never written to disk or kept afterward — nothing is logged beyond ordinary server request logs. Batches are sent one image at a time, and the final ZIP is assembled in your browser.
Format conversion works the same way as compression: each image is sent to our server, converted, and returned in the same request. Nothing is stored afterward.
Each PDF you compress is sent to our server for processing (this is unavoidable — compressing a PDF properly requires a real encoder). When the server has Ghostscript installed, the file is written to a temporary location only for the duration of that request and deleted immediately afterward, whether the request succeeds or fails. Nothing is retained once the response is sent.
Donations are processed by Razorpay. We never see or store your card, UPI, or bank details — those go directly to Razorpay. On our side, we only use Razorpay to create a payment order and to verify that a completed payment's signature is genuine; we don't keep a record of who donated or how much beyond what Razorpay's own dashboard shows us.
The page loads Google Fonts from a third-party content delivery network for its typefaces, and Razorpay's checkout.js to power the donation widget. Loading these resources may expose your IP address and browser details to Google or Razorpay under their own privacy policies. The JSZip and QR code libraries used by the tools are bundled with the site itself and never make an external request.
You're responsible for making sure you have the right to use anything you upload — logos, screenshots, or images. AppAsset doesn't inspect, store, or claim any ownership over what you generate.
AppAsset is a general-purpose developer tool and isn't directed at children. We don't knowingly collect information from children, in part because we don't collect personal information from anyone.
If how the tool handles data ever changes, this page will be updated with a new "last updated" date above.
